Pakistan middle-order batter Azam Khan shined during the opening match of Global T20 Canada on Friday in Brampton.
The explosive right-hander scored 65 runs in 55 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes, while playing for Mississauga Panthers against Brampton Wolves.
However, Azam Khan’s side lost the match by 52 runs (DLS method) after the match was stopped due to bad light.
Mississauga were dismissed for 121 in 20 overs, meanwhile the home side were 99-1 in nine overs when the match was stopped.
Mississauga’s captain and former Pakistan all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, could only score one run with the bat. He also conceded 34 runs in two overs with nothing to show for in the wickets column.
Pakistan’s leg-spinner Usman Qadir, who was also playing for Mississauga, also gave away 23 runs in two overs without picking up a wicket.
